TRW PSA328 brake servo — cross-reference and donor applications
The 8-inch TRW PSA328 brake booster is one of the servos used as a basis for replacement on a number of TVRs (Cerbera, Griffith, Chimaera and S Series). Because TVR sourced many bought-in parts from mainstream manufacturers, the same unit appears across a wide range of late-1980s and early-1990s Ford Fiesta variants — which makes used and remanufactured stock easy to find under a variety of part numbers.
This page lists the equivalent part numbers and the donor vehicles the servo was originally fitted to. It is intended as a cross-checking aid when buying a replacement; always confirm physical dimensions, pushrod length, mounting stud pattern and master-cylinder flange before fitting.

Notes for TVR owners
Section titled “Notes for TVR owners”The most commonly cited donors for TVR brake servo work are the Fiesta Mk III 1.6 XR2i and the 1.6 Turbo (FBJT), both of which use the PSA328 servo. Community notes suggest that the master cylinder from a Mk III XR2i or 1.6i Ghia (22 mm bore) is reported to suit the 4.2 Cerbera; verify the bore, port arrangement and pushrod geometry on your own car before ordering.
When buying:
- Check whether you need a left- or right-hand drive unit — pushrod and bracketry differ.
- Inspect the vacuum check valve and grommet; these are often the source of a poor pedal rather than the servo itself.
- Remanufactured units are widely available against any of the cross-reference numbers above, often more cheaply than NOS Ford stock.

Use the listings above to identify a candidate part, but always confirm dimensions and specification against the unit fitted to your car, and torque fasteners to the manufacturer’s figures. If in doubt, consult a TVR specialist.
